Context
Event management can often involve a number of different tasks, from the save-the-date invitation to the event registration, and the registration at the venue. Activo has been dedicated to providing event management solutions for enterprises and organisations for a number of years. In my initial years at Activo, I noticed certain patterns emerging in the development of each new event management solution. My aim was to create a comprehensive digital solution that would streamline these processes, reduce manual effort and enhance the event experience for organisers and attendees.

The Approach
Understanding the roles of event managers and how event agencies work
We started by understanding the needs and challenges of the event agencies. Through detailed user research, including surveys and interviews, we gathered insights that guided the design process.
Co-Creation Workshops
We organized co-creation workshops involving key stakeholders. These sessions were crucial in aligning the vision and ensuring that the platform would address real-world needs effectively.

Result
The concept, designed from scratch, resulted in a client-side configuration framework where each component can be enabled and set up without the need for code, and with different levels of user permissions.
The new modular platform enables Activo to provide an event management solution in a matter of days. The time-to-market has been reduced by 75%, and the platform is more stable and capable of meeting high demand. New features can be added, integrated into the platform and made available to any customer. Activo's delivery capacity has doubled with the introduction of the new modular platform, as well as the company revenue growth.
